Background
These homeowners were considering whether to move house completely but decided to stay, choosing to renovate their existing home and extend it in the least stressful way possible. It was these decisions that ultimately led them to visit our stunning showroom in Leeds where they immediately fell in love with the concept of having our bioclimatic pergola at the foot of their garden rather than undertaking an expensive and disruptive house extension.
While visiting our Leeds showroom they also took advantage of our solar shading solutions and purchased an innovative awning to sit above their bi-folding doors.
An additional and flexible space
Because they wanted to create another social space for themselves and for their kids to enjoy the homeowners opted for a large 6m x 4m bioclimatic structure with an opening louvre roof.
Visiting our Leeds showroom didn’t just provide the information they needed to purchase a pergola, they also took inspiration from the various displays within our showroom to dress and accessorise their new space by purchasing the garden furniture to sit within the pergola from ourselves as well.
Outdoor Living
We have partnered with the Garden Trading Company to offer the quality outdoor furniture that will turn our pergolas into an extension of the home.
The outdoor bar and drinks trough, Lynton sofa set, and log burner add a traditional and homely feel to this otherwise contemporary space. The outdoor furniture ensures that the new space can be enjoyed with friends and family and utilised as a tranquil solitary space to retire to at the end of the day.

Fixed glazing across the rear of the pergola
Due to the location of the pergola the homeowners decided that they didn’t need access from the rear of the space so screened this off with fixed glazing from our sister Company Express Bi-Folding Doors. This fixed screen adds more weather protection into the pergola and will help to keep the heat inside when the heater is on.
We have lots of options for the sides of our pergolas, but our in-house manufacturing capability means that we can also add full weather grade doors and windows into the structure as we have here.
Solar powered awning
The home boasts two bi-folding doors installed by our sister company Express Bi-Folding Doors. As our summers have gradually become warmer they took the opportunity add some much needed shading to their south facing elevation.
The awning is powered by two solar panels and boasts integrated lighting to add a sleek and contemporary shading solution to this property.
