Functional outdoor architecture
We’re proud to manufacture the finest pergolas available in the UK with a minimalist design coupled with industry leading construction quality. Our beautiful pergolas are expertly designed to change the way you enjoy your home and will allow you to spend more time outside even in the Winter months.
Our top of the range bioclimatic pergolas contain a motor operated louvered roof system that can be tilted and closed as required to offer full weather protection, plus our bioclimatic pergolas are available with a huge range of accessories such as heaters, speakers, ambient lighting and drop blinds.
Our fixed pergolas are more cost effective as they contain a roof that is either fixed closed or fixed in an open position so offer shade shelter rather than full weather protection.
We’ve been transforming homes and helping our customers to create beautiful spaces since 2007. Our Company ethos has always been to bring the outside inside & to allow our customers to spend more time in their garden. Our luxury pergolas take that ethos one step further, a luxurious outdoor space that can be enjoyed regardless of the weather. We offer unlimited colour options and a variety of bespoke sizes and configurations plus the piece of mind of a quality installation & comprehensive guarantee.
As an industry leader manufacturing the best aluminium door and window products UK we’ve worked with a major European systems house to design the finest pergolas available in the UK with the structural integrity to withstand the harshest weather for more than ten years.
Our unique pergola systems are designed to change the way you enjoy your surroundings at home by allowing you to spend more time within your dream exterior space and to do so even in the harsher winter months. We can also undertake associated light building work to help you to create your perfect outside space.
A bioclimatic pergola essentially means an electronically operated roof where the roof louvres are opened, closed and rotated by a concealed motor and remote control. The intelligent design of bioclimatic pergolas means that they can be enjoyed throughout the year as the roof louvres contain wind and rain sensors to offer more protection from the element.
The electrical features are not just limited to the roof louvres, heaters, speakers, LED lighting and drop blinds are all features that can be concealed within the pergola ring beam to create a stunning and usable outside space.
Fixed pergolas are more cost effective than their bioclimatic counterparts because there is no motor required to operate the roof. We offer two options for fixed pergolas, one is a simple solution with the louvres in a fixed position which offers shade only and does not protect from the rain.
The second option is a full bioclimatic pergola but without a motor to the roof is fixed in a closed position, this is a great option for outdoor kitchens or to create a luxury sheltered area outside because the roof is permanently closed but electronically operated heaters, speakers and other features can still be concealed and utilised within the pergola.
Our pergolas are completely bespoke and we offer two premium quality ranges both of which are made from high grade aluminium extrusions. Our Phanes Pergola is an industry leading bioclimatic pergola but is simple for us to manufacture and install.
Our Selene Pergola is fantastically engineered and is our highest specification bioclimatic pergola with a large range of extras, this pergola system sits within a higher price bracket because it is more complex to manufacture and install.
Our pergola systems are exceptionally durable and can cover large areas without the need for joins or combing two systems with a maximum area of almost 30 m² with a single frame. The system is available with a huge range of design options making it the perfect product for an outdoor patio area, landscaped garden, or a shelter as you transition between your indoor and outdoor space.
Because the structure of the pergola is made from aluminium there are also a huge range of colour options with more than 300 colours and finished to choose from as well as contrasting colour options for the pergola legs and the roof louvres.
Our aluminium pergolas boast various USP’s which is why we always recommend viewing them first hand, especially our top of the range bioclimatic pergolas. Just some of the notable features are detailed below.
We offer a range of stunning accessories for both our fixed and bioclimatic pergolas. These luxury additional elements can truly enhance your pergola in terms of aesthetics but also improve its performance in every aspect, so that you, your family, and your friends can enjoy it throughout the year regardless of the weather:
In most cases, you do not need planning permission for a pergola, provided it meets certain criteria.
If it is a freestanding pergola, it should not exceed 2.5 meters in height.
If attached to a building, it should be no taller than 3 meters and not extend more than 3 meters from the wall of your house.
You will need planning permission if your pergola exceeds the height limits, is built in a conservation area, or if your property is listed. Also, if the pergola is used for purposes other than a garden feature, such as a commercial use, permission may be necessary.
Permitted development rights allow certain types of building work to be carried out without the need for a planning application. If your project does not comply with these rights, you must apply for planning permission.
To apply for planning permission, you should submit an application to your local planning authority. This typically includes a form, site plans, and possibly design drawings.
We offer a full turn key service so will happily visit you at home to advise on where the pergola will sit. We also offer advise on the base and power requirements and can work with your trades on site or take full responsibility and create the base for you and bring power to the pergola.
A pergola can create a stylish and functional outdoor area, providing shade and defining spaces for relaxation or entertainment. It can also serve as a focal point in your garden, encouraging you to spend more time outside.
It will also increase your homes value and make it more desirable if you sell your home.
You can use a pergola for various purposes, such as a seating area with outdoor furniture, a dining space for al fresco meals, an outside bar or a vertical garden by adding climbing plants. It can also serve as a shelter for a gym, hot tub or outdoor kitchen.
Our pergolas are a strong aluminium structure but you can soften the space with integrated lighting or vertical automatic blinds to create a cosy atmosphere. You can also add premium garden furniture, potted plants, outdoor rugs, or cushions to enhance comfort and style.
Yes, with the right accessories such as outdoor infra-red heaters, integrated Bluetooth speakers, blinds / screens, sliding glass panel sides or solid aluminium louvred sliding panels, you can enjoy your pergola throughout the year, making it a versatile space for all weather conditions.
Yes you can. We would recommend a fixed roof over the kitchen area though to provide adequate weather protection.
Yes we do. An annual service is recommended to clear all the gutters and give everything a good clean down in anticipation for the warmer months.
You can see from our showroom images how stunning our pergolas look when installed but there’s nothing like seeing them installed within our customers gardens so take a good look through our online case studies to see how we have transformed and created some stunning outside spaces across Yorkshire.
